Little Sparklers Daycare at Sophumelela and my new place and the view!

Things have been going well at the clinic. I love spending time with the kids. I've been assisting in one of the younger classes in the morning and then an hour with the older kids in the afternoon. Of course, I have some of my favorites already. I know it didn't take long. There's a girl, Siya, who's mom has AIDS, and she was just tested today to find out if she was positive or not and it came back negative. Yesterday, she climbed up on my back during recess and in the process feel asleep. It was so sweet. She indicated later that her ear was bothering her, so I guess she wasn't feeling well and for them sleeping on the back is normal. Then there's Songa, he requires a little more time, but I have a soft spot for him too. Aunty Rae, the teacher, wants me to focus on working with him, because he has problems concentrating. And he's noticed that I've taken a liking to him. And I've been the drawing queen. I drew a couple things ie.. horses, etc for the girls and now every morning before class starts and we are playing the kids are asking me to draw. Today it was a lion, a springbok, and a car. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. it's going well.

Today, I went with Aunty Sandy, the teacher for the older children, to Dunken Village, a township here in the eastern cape. She had to drop off a couple things. The kids swarmed me when they saw me, like they never saw a white person before. Next thing, you knew I had them doing the head, shoulders, knees and toes song. It was so cute.. 20 of them following along. :) I get to go back next week. :)

I took a couple pics of my place inside and the kids today.

The new place is working well. I love my new little place. God is so good!

Also I wanted to let you know that I spoke with Auntie Ray today, one of the teachers, about having the kids getting sponsored for their school fees and transportation. It costs a child $50 a month to go to school and for many families they can't afford the cost, so their child doesn't go. I have asked her to count up how many children need to be sponsored and how much each child needs and I'll see what I can do. I don't want these kids to fall through the cracks. I want to make this a way to bless the kids here. I'll keep you posted.
